Obituary for Wayne Gosnell

Wayne Gosnell, 89, surrendered this earthly struggle on Nov. 29, 2014 for his heavenly home.
Mr. Gosnell was a life-long resident of Madison County. He was a life-long member of Grapevine Baptist Church. He was also a 54 yr. member of the Masonic Lodge 292. He was a master carpenter for 60 yrs. and then became an avid gardener after retirement.
He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy after serving 3 yrs. in the Asiatic Pacific during WW11.
Mr. Gosnell was preceded in death by his parents, Lawson and Pearl Gosnell. His wife of 65 yrs., Faye Rice Gosnell; son, James Wiley Gosnell, brothers, Paul and Glen Gosnell; sisters, Jessie Boone and Bessie Gosnell.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Shirley Robinson of Weaverville and Brenda Arrington (Terry) of Marshall. Four grandchildren, Kevin Robinson, Vanessa Buckner (Ronnie) of Marshall, Michelle Hollifield (Toby) of Weaverville and Evan Arrington of Marshall; eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held for family and friends at Gosnell Cemetery in the Grapevine Community at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 3, 2014. The Reverend Ken Parker will officiate. Mars Hill VFW Post 5483 will conduct military graveside rites; Masonic Lodge 292 will also conduct graveside rites.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Tuesday at Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
