Obituary for Macy Edna Bradburn (Woody)

Macy Woody “Butch” Bradburn, age 83 of Weaverville, went to meet her Savior on Monday April 20, 2015.
Mrs. Bradburn was born in the Sandy Mush Community of Leicester to the late E. Berlin Woody and the late Nonnie King Woody. A graduate of Woodfin High School, her gift for sewing led her on a career with several companies, including Connie Fashions in Weaverville and General Motors in Michigan. She loved quilting, cooking, flowers, genealogy research, teaching others to sew and spending time with her family. Retired since 1985, she was happiest in the home she designed and helped to build in Weaverville. A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, she had a strong faith and believed in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bradburn was preceded in death by her sons Ronald in 1958 and Roger in 1997, along with nine brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, of 65 years, Maynard Bradburn, her sons Roy (Debbie) Bradburn, Randall (Kathy) Bradburn, Rex (Tammy) Bradburn, Rodney (Robin) Bradburn, daughter Rhonda (Richard) Belinc, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, April 25, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church, 14 Joy Lane, Candler, NC. The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Bradburn will be buried alongside her son Ronald in the Mt. Sheba Cemetery in Weaverville.
Blue Ridge Funeral Service in Mars Hill is honored to be caring for the Bradburn family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Independence Fund, www.independencefund.org/give/macy-bradburn-memorial-fund?contentonly=true, to be made in her memory.
