Doris Phillips Honeycutt, January 1, 1930 – November 28, 2016. Doris moved to her heavenly home Monday, November 28, 2016. She was born and raised in Madison County. She moved to Hickory, NC while raising her family then moved back to Weaverville, NC about 20 plus years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents Carmen and Esta Baldridge Phillips; husband, Glenn Willis Honeycutt; son, Gerald Glenn Honeycutt; brother, William Phillips; two sisters, Lois and Mafrey Honeycutt.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda London and husband Huck of Weaverville; brother Tom Phillips and wife Lorraine of Mars Hill; several nieces and nephews who loved her very much and extended family and good friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Joe George and Elmer Shelton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Stephen, Clifton and Christian Honeycutt, Shawn and Ryan Moss, Farrell Phillips, Kevin Smith and Brent King. Burial will follow in the Chambers Cemetery in Mars Hill. The family will receive friends 1:00pm – 2:00pm prior to the service.
The family would like to Thank the Brian Center in Weaverville for their Special Care for the last few months. We appreciate the staff and their special nurses.
