Kenneth G. Brown, 83, of 190 Hobson Branch Road, Weaverville, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017. He is the son of the late Grady and Ola Norton Brown. Mr. Brown served in the Army for 8 years and was the operator of the Tire Discount Barn on Patton Avenue, for 40 years. He also attended Forks of Ivy Baptist Church. Mr. Brown loved farming and raising cattle. But, most of all he loved his girls and grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Brown and a great grandson, Mason Lee Wyatt.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 61 years, Audrey Marshbanks Brown; daughters, Rachel McMahan (Ricky) and Shannon Webb (Mark); sister, Gladys Williams; grandchildren, Miranda Wheeler (Scott), Holly McMahan, Bridget Wyatt, and Brandon Webb (girlfriend Morgan); great grandchildren; Skylar, Trinity, Carter, Tristen, Cooper, Marissa, Remington, and Kenley; and nephews, Clarence, Dale, Wayne and Jack.
A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, May 5, 2017, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Jerry Shelton, Worth Emory, and Greg Hollifield will officiate. Burial will follow in the Forks of Ivy Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
