Obituary for H. Page Lee

H. Page  Lee
Dr. H. Page Lee, 87, of Mars Hill, N.C., passed away peacefully at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Facility on May 18, 2017. Page was born in Greensboro, N.C. on October 22, 1929. He attended public schools in Greensboro and graduated from Guilford College with a BA in English. He received his Bachelors of Divinity and Masters in Theology from Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. and he received his PhD from Southern Seminary in Louisville, K.Y.

Page was a religion professor at Mars Hill College for 34 years. During that time, he continued his studies at Oxford University in England and Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He served many churches as a minister during his lifetime.

Page is survived by his wife Anne Harrell Lee of 68 years; daughters Diane Wells (Dennis), Janet Murray (Bruce), and Laura Scotti (Tony) and son David Lee (Julie); eight grandchildren: Lee, Jennie, Katie, Emily, Laura Beth, Anderson, Brooks and Summer; four great grandchildren: Brady, Lindsey, Miles and Oliver;
and brothers David and John and sister Jennie Stewart.

Page’s sweet gentle spirit touched many lives.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Mars Hill Baptist Church, Mars Hill, N.C., on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. A time of visitation will follow the service.

Memorials may be given to: Mars Hill Baptist Church Pastor’s Fund, P.O. Box 218 Mars Hill, N.C. 28754; Mars Hill University, Mars Hill, N.C.; or Guilford College-Scholarship Fund, 5800 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, N.C. 27410.
