Obituary for Jennie Smith (Snyder)

Jennie Snyder Smith, 92, of the Walnut community passed away on September 22, 2017 at her home. Jennie was born in Buncombe county to the late Jesse and Clenard Snyder. She had lived in Walnut for over 70 years. Mrs. Smith was retired from MicroSwitch in Mars Hill, NC and had also worked in the cafeteria at Marshall Elementary School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Smith, who passed in 1991; brothers, Paul and Fred; sisters, Faye and Carmel and son in law Buddy Buckner.
She is survived by children, Gary Smith, Paula Buckner, Pat Haynie (Ronnie); sisters, Jackie Houston, Frieda Landers, Ann Stephens and Norma Moss; a brother Ronnie Snyder; grandchildren, Kenni Snelson (Todd), Scott Haynie (Tonya), Kellie Moore (Sam); great grandchildren, Logan and Zayde Haynie, Wlaker, Kennedy and Oliva Snelson, Mackenzie, Maddie and Mollie Moore and Morgan Brooke Buckner; step grandchildren; Destiny Nash (Daniel) and Canaan Peek; step great great grandchildren Aidan and Camden Nash as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held 12:00pm Monday, September 25, 2017 at Bowman Rector Cemetery, Marshall, NC with Rev. Dave Aumiller officiating.
The family would like to thank Care Partners Home Hospice and caregiver Melanie Gaddy for their excellent care and support.
