Helen Lucille  Ward (Morris)
Helen Morris Ward, 91, formerly of 38 Lawterdale Circle, Weaverville, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Roy J. and Fontella House Morris, a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and retired as a seamstress for 25 years from Mills Manufacturing.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ward is preceded in death her husband, Clyde Allen Ward; two daughters, Joyce Ward Shuttleworth (Philip), and Mary Jeanette Ward Sellers (Benjamin); sisters, Louise Fisher, Kathleen Dickerson, Pauline McHone, and Clara Edwards; and brothers, James, Leroy, Gordon, and Phil.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Ward Pack (Lee); sisters, Jean Overby and Betty Warren; brother, Jimmy Morris; grandchildren, Deborah House, Chris Pack, Dea Cann, Kym Harden, Benny and Allen Sellers, Jenny Kay Brock, Lee Pack, Jr., Philip Shuttleworth and Mendi Arnold; and 17 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 9, 2017, at Flat Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Brian Hanrahan will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
