Obituary for Richard Lee Stone

Richard Lee Stone, 72, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017. He was the son of the late Ernest and Ila Allen Stone. He is preceded in death by sister, Joyce Barnhardt and brother Darrell Stone.
His is survived by his wife of 49 yrs., Barbara Ashe Stone; son, Jason Richard Stone of Alexander; and brothers, David Stone (Deb) of Asheville, and Dennis Stone of Swannanoa.
Richard lived in Oteen, NC until 1972 when he lived the rest of his life in Madison County. He was a veteran of the US Army stationed in Germany and a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church. He worked as a carpenter and spent a lot of his time enjoying his cattle and nature.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Calvary Worship Center, 101 Calvary Dr., Marshall, NC 28753. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm with Reverends Rusty Smart and Bobby Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Beacon of Hope Service of Madison County, P.O. Box 547, Marshall, NC 28753.
