Dr. David Johnson

I was Doc's student in 1979. Now I teach at a university in Pennsylvania. On Tuesday this week, I was recounting a story Doc told me 38 years ago about his early days as a teacher in Alabama, and I credited him by name to my students here. Today, I learned this great man has passed from us. I think he would have liked knowing that his personal story was still being told to train young folks in another place many years later. I hope this brings some small comfort to the family. I am grateful for the life and mind of Vernon Chapman.
