Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Vernon Chapman can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Bologna Sandwiches

We all love Dr. Chapman but our mom loved him more. My mom and I lived near Bald Creek Elementary School when Dr. Chapman was Superintendent of Yancey County Schools. Every time he visited Bald Creek School or was passing by he always stopped at our house. My mom always made him a bologna sandwich. (who knew he likes bologna)

As Christians we know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. So Thursday morning I think my mom met Dr. Chapman with a Heavenly bologna sandwich. So Dr. Chapman say hello to our mom and we will see you later. Our love to Mamie and all the family.
