Obituary for Joey Robert Metcalf
Joey Robert Metcalf 43 of Barnardsville died on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017 of complications of Type 1 Diabetes. Although he lived with diabetes since the age of six, he never let it hold him back from living. He never met a soul he didn’t touch and make their life richer by knowing him. He bestowed first his smile and then a laugh on everyone he met. He was a loyal friend for life.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Roy Metcalf, his maternal grandfather and grandmother Leonard and Virginia Crawford. Also, several uncles and cousins.
He is survived by parents, Robert and Jo Metcalf and paternal grandmother Nell Metcalf. Additionally, he is survived by brother and sister-in-law Darrell and Morgan Metcalf. His little treasures, nieces Davis and Merritt and nephew Lawson Metcalf.
His visitation will be held Thursday, November 16 from 4:30-6:30 with funeral immediately following in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Mars Hill.
