Obituary for Lucile Sprinkle (Ponder)

Lucile Ponder Sprinkle passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2017 at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was born and lived in the Bull Creek Community as a child.
In 1957, Lucile graduated from Mars Hill High School. She attended Mars Hill University and graduated from Appalachian State University in 1961 earning a BS degree in Home Economics. After 30 years of teaching in Kannapolis City, Yancey and Madison County Schools she retired to camping, workshops with her wood carving husband, crafts, gardening and anything else she wanted to do.
Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Mafery Honeycutt Ponder. Her loving and faithful husband of 51 years, Bruce Sprinkle.
She is survived by a son Bradford Sprinkle and grandson Bailey Sprinkle. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, June and Charles Phillips, several nieces, nephews and many former students.
At her request a burial will be held on 2:00PM Monday, December 11, 2017 at the family cemetery on East Fork Road in Madison County.
