Fred Franklin Henderson, 96 of Aiken Road passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017. He was a native of Madison County and son of the late Christopher Columbus and Nora Rockett Henderson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth Gahagan Henderson; brothers, Ralph, Everett, Arthur, Robert, Christopher Columbus Jr. Henderson. Mr. Henderson was a mechanic for Ford, Chevrolet and owned his own garage for 26 years and was the service supervisor for Madison County School Bus Garage.
He is survived by a daughter; Sharon Franklin (Lewis), son; Freddie Henderson (Velma Ruth), grandchildren; Michael Henderson and Hailey Franklin.
A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Raymond Cantrell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gahagan Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00PM Tuesday, December 19, at the funeral home.
