Helen Rice Massey, 90, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Tipton Rice. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Alfred Dee Massey, and children, Jerry Lee Massey (Judy), Alfred D. Massey, Jr., and Karen Marie Massey; grandson, Jeff Metcalf.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Metcalf (Clyde Junior); grandchildren, Dee Massey (Shantel), Athena Massey, Corinna Mull (John), Leslie Massey, Phillip Massey (Amanda), Katrina Johnson (Jeremy), and Joseph Metcalf (Melissa); 19 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with Reverends Clyde Metcalf, Jr., and Danny Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
