Obituary for Edith Edwards (Edwards) `
On Saturday, January 20, 2018 in the middle of the afternoon the beautiful spirit of Edith Edwards, 94 of Mars Hill departed heavenward to join her husband, Eugene Edwards; son, Richard Edwards; daughter, Gladys Edwards; sisters, June Loeser and Margaret Sprinkle; brother, J.L. Edwards; beloved great grandson, William Joseph Arrington; and many other precious family members including her mother, Edyth Fagan Edwards and daddy, Jesse Lee Edwards of whom she spoke so lovingly in recent days. Her homecoming leaves us knowing that God knows best and does all things well. She was always bright and cheerful, never losing faith in her God or her family.
Those who mourn her, are her daughter, Susie Fender (Dwight); and her son Leonard Edwards (Faye), along with her dear grandchildren, Kristi (Richard), Lynne (Jim), Jason, Charlie (Subrina), Melanie (Mark), Lori (Charlie) and Daniel. Her cherished great grandchildren are Zach, Joseph, Hannah, Caroline, Sara, Travis, Luke, Kate, Ella, Kembur, Juli and Jonathan. She also leaves behind her many beloved nieces and nephews and special friend, J. W. Jones.
Edith was a devout Christian and a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Mars Hill. She worked for 25 years at Hammarlund and MicroSwitch in Mars Hill and always enjoyed her time with her friends and co-workers over the years.
A celebration of her life will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Revs. Kevin McMillan and John Hicks will officiate. The family will receive friends 12:30 – 2:00PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Old Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank all the nursing, housekeeping, and dietary staff at Madison Health and Rehab Center who have lovingly cared for her two and one-half years.
