Dewey McKinley Brown, 87, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018. He was the son of the late Lyda and Ethel Freeman Brown. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Jerry Brown; grandson, Greg Brown; sisters, Grace Riess, Alice Henderson, Magdeline Craine and an infant sister and two infant brothers. Mr. Brown was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for 18 years.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 39 years, Evelyn Coates Brown; daughter, Diane Beck (Darren); son James Brown; sister, Evelyn Wilson; grandson, Seth Brown (Linda) and great grandchildren, River and Bentlee Brown.
A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Garland Rice and Phillip Parker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kirk Payne Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
