Condolence: To: Mr. & Mrs. Wilson, Cindy, Mary and Chief Jeff Justice and the entire Reems Creek Fire Department and Buncombe County Emergency Services friends and families; We all lost a very special person on March 20, you all knew him has Johnny, but I knew him as Captain Theory. Let me explain when we were on a trip together several years ago I gave him that name and it has stuck ever since. See he had a theory about everything that I or Jeff or Dennis had on this particular road trip, and when we four would travel together on outings it was always and adventure for sure! I have known many people in my life, but none as genuine and sincere as Johnny was. He was the type of person that we should all want to be, someone who leaves everything better than they found it. Once he came into my life he made me a better person, just sharing a laugh or a joke together from time to time, or giving me a hard time about being a Duke Fan. Or just giving me that laugh that I needed on a busy day. And oh yea once he found out that my oldest daughter would be attending the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill for college, he really had a ball with that. Since he was 100 percent Tarheel blue! He always would try to get the best out of everyone he touched, including me! Mr. & Mrs. Wilson I want to personally thank you for raising such a fine son who had great values, and sharing him with myself and the hundreds of others that he has touch over his journey in life. He is someone that you truly could call a true friend in life, and that he was. The following days will be hard for you both and Cindy and Mary and for Jeff and Dennis for sure, it will also be hard on all of us who knew Johnny as well. I actually spoke with Johnny late on Monday evening, as we sometime would do I will cherish that finally conversation that I had with him for the rest of my life. We picked at each other as we always would do and shared a laugh or too. We will all gather this Saturday to celebrate Johnny's life and I am promise Johnny I will wear something Carolina blue just for you my friend! Rest In peace my friend until I see you again! Condolence: Junior and Susie, our hearts are broken. We can only pray God gives you strength during this time. Your family has always been special to us and Johnny was certainly a big part of our family for many years. We will miss him, but knowing he is with his son certainly lightens the load. You will be in our prayers in the coming days.

Condolence: Jr., Susie and Cindy, I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this! If I can do anything to help you, please let me know. I will miss driving up Reems Creek (or anywhere really) and not passing Johnny and seeing him wave. It meant the world to me that he came to my parents funerals. He was a wonderful man and servant to his Lord and Community. May God bless and comfort you, in Jesus name🙏

Condolence From: Mark Shuford
Condolence: Junior, Susan, and Cindy, We were so saddened to hear of Johnny's passing. I (Mark) have fond memories of being on the baseball field with Johnny while in high school as well as our casual friendship off the field. Though we were never very close friends I always felt a connection with Johnny because of what we shared on the field but mostly because he was gentle and kind and you just felt drawn to him. I know you all are proud to call him son and brother - as you should be. I pray that God and time will give you all peace because I know this is difficult. With love and sorrow, Mark and Teresa Shuford

Condolence: Susan, Junior, and Cindy: We were devastated to hear of the passing of Johnny. I have always loved him so much and was so glad that we kept in touch over the years. He would text on my birthday and Christmas every year, and me to him. One of my son’s had the pleasure to work with him last year a bit and Johnny of course treated him as family. I know he is home now and his perfect reunion with our beloved Brad has taken place. That is the sweetest vision I could ever imagine. Please know we are praying for you all through this time. An amazing person who left early but inspired us all to give a little more of ourselves daily, as he did
