James “Jimmy” Rice, 76, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018. He was the son of the late Billy and Alma Huntsinger Rice. He is preceded in death by brothers, Eddie, Raymond, and Paul Rice and sister Karen Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Metcalf Rice; son, Jeffery Rice; daughter, Kathy Rogers; sister, Mae Rice Metcalf (Dean); brothers, Billy Rice, Bobby and Billy King, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Monday, April 2, 2018 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Dean Metcalf will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rice Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00PM - 2:00PM prior to the service.
