Russell Harry  Gustavson
Russell Harry Gustavson, 70, of Weaverville, previously from La Grange, Ga, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, April 12, 2018 surrounded by his family and Zach, his cat. He was the son of the late Kenneth J. and Janet Cooper Gustavson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gustavson and brother, Kenneth T. Gustavson.
He is survived by nephews and nieces; Jason, Cindy and Chris; great nephew, Justin; niece, Heather; sister-in-law, Leslie Gustavson; care giver and niece of the heart, Tina Boings Wallin and great nieces of the heart, Caitlyn and Stephanie Wallin.
Russ loved the outdoors. In his younger days, he loved to be out fishing and hunting. In the most recent years, he loved seeing the wild life and storm clouds roll in from his living room window.
A graveside service will be held 12:00PM Monday, April 16, 2018 at Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain with Rev. Wesley Pike officiating.
The family would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing staff of the Charles George VA Medical Center Homebound Program and the staff of Hospice of Madison County. Especially Dr. Billie Sheppard and Nurse Practitioner, Jan Nelson, who were instrumental in giving Russ a good quality of life.
