Claude James Shepherd, 82 of Parham Road passed away Monday, October 10, 2016. He was the son of Wayne and Donnie Metcalf Shepherd. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sons, Jackie Lee and Ricky Shepherd, one sister and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nora Magdalene Robinson Shepherd; daughters, Lillian Thomas (Clayton), Teresa Shepherd; son, Jimmy Shepherd (Peggy); daughter-in-law Earnestine Shepherd; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Dennis Shepherd, Joe Houser and Coy Wheeler will officiate. Burial will follow in the Chambers Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12 – 2 prior to the service.
