Obituary for William Perry "Will" Willis

William Perry "Will" Willis
William “Will” Perry Willis died February 27, 2018. It was his 34th birthday. He was a remarkable man of faith and courage with his main goal in life being to glorify God in all his ways.
Will was an elder at the Burnsville Seventh Day Adventist Church. Strongly rooted in his convictions, he made choices reflecting those beliefs. He wanted to be a blessing to everyone and was always willing to put others' needs before his own. He was a career firefighter with the City of Asheville Fire Department. Most recently, he worked as an Engineer for Station 6. He joined the Ebbs Chapel Volunteer Fire Department at age 16 where he most recently served as their Deputy Chief. He had a tremendous work ethic and was the "W" in the M and W Electrical business that he ran with his best friend, Kevin Morton. Will wanted his children to grow closer to God through being in nature and loved nothing more than spending time with them outdoors.
Will is survived by his wife, Bonnie and their four children, Walker, Hudson, Darby, and Chauncey; parents, Jim and Melanie Willis; paternal grandmother, Zell Willis; maternal grandmother, June Wyatt; sister, Cassandra Buckner and husband Brandon; father and mother-in-law, Philip and Phyllis Steen; brother-in-law, Aaron Steen and wife Summer; brother-in-law, Oliver Steen and several close cousins, nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service was held on February 28, 2018 at the Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery. A memorial for Will, will be held at Brookstone Church in Weaverville, NC on March 11 at 3:00 in the afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Will's family at First Citizens Bank in Weaverville, 178 Weaver Blvd. or PO Box 888, Weaverville, NC 28787 to the Benefit for Will Willis Account.
