Obituary for Ann Bruce Lovins (Wray)

Ann Bruce Lovins, 90, of Mars Hill, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an amazing cook, gardener, and homemaker. She is the daughter of the late Worth and Isabelle Bruce Wray and was born in Hinton, WV, but has lived most of her life in Madison County. Mrs. Lovins retired from Mars Hill University and was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter M. Lovins; her daughter, Isabelle Lovins Ledford; daughter-in-law, Betsy Robinson Lovins; and brother, Charles Wray.
Mrs. Lovins is survived by her son, Bill Lovins; son-in-law, Marshall Ledford; grandchildren, Marsha Roberts (Charlie), Walter Lovins (Lisa), Bruce Ledford (Jackie), and Ann Gottfried (Isaac); and three great grandchildren, Brooklynn and McKenna Roberts, and Ben Gottfried.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Pastor Jim Dykes will officiate. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children — Greenville, Office of Development, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tabitha Hunter, Debra Buchanan, and Compassionate Care WNC for making it possible to spend her last days at home with her family.
