Wanda Lee Ramsey, 93, of Mars Hill, departed this earthly life on March 18, 2024. She was a native of Madison County, predeceased by her loving husband, Robert W. Ramsey, her parents, Euclid and Pearl Cody, and three brothers and two sisters.

Supporting many work-related adventures, Wanda tenderly pampered Robert and her children. She devoted herself to maintaining an immaculate, comfortable home, preparing round-the-clock meals, and doting upon her yard, overflowing with precious flowers and shrubs. She treasured reading, journal writing, and slipping into well-deserved daily naps.

Surviving is her son, Jerry Ramsey, and wife, Marion; a daughter, Nancy Carter, and husband, Danny; and a daughter, Robin Poehnert, and husband, Richard. Her spirit and sweet sense of humor gallop on within her eight grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mammaw lived an abundant life.

For those who would like an opportunity to say goodbye, a funeral service followed by burial will be held on March 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Upper Laurel Baptist Church, 9940 US 23 Hwy Mars Hill, NC. At the church, Wanda’s family will be available for visitation one hour prior to the service.
