Obituary for Charles Lloyd Bradley

Charles Lloyd Bradley, 74 of Marshall, went to be home with the Lord on Friday, February 11, 2022, after a brief illness. Charles was born on February 7, 1948, in Madison County to his late parents, Sankey and Irene Bradley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Bradley and infant sister.
Charles’ love of the outdoors and for his family as well as those around him was very apparent to all who knew him. He loved supporting his family and community in any way that he could. He was always ready to help others and was as a member of Madison Seminary Baptist Church.

He began his career in the military serving in the Army and later became the owner-operator of his own grading and construction business which evolved into years of providing contractor services including building several homes for his family as well as others in Madison and surrounding Counties. Charles had an affection for handcrafted woodwork and may of the homes that he built featured handmade items crafted by him. In addition to his career building houses and grading, he was the Operator of Capitola Hydro for French Broad Electric Membership Corporation located in Marshall on the French Broad River. After retirement, he continued as an equipment operator working beside his son, Chad.

Those left to cherish Charles’ memory include his wife of fifty-four years, Linda Ball Bradley; son Chad and wife Michelle, granddaughters Jocelynn and Alexa; and daughter Mandy and husband Allen, grandson Thatcher. In addition to his wife and children, Charles is survived by his brother Aldon Bradley and wife Sheila as well as several special nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Pastor Steve Honeycutt officiating. Following COVID protocols, the family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Madison Seminary Church Cemetery. Close friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to the care that Charles received during his illness as well as the outpouring of love from the many friends who have supported Charles and his family during this difficult time.
