Obituary for Dawn Marie Cisek
Dawn Cisek was born in Manila, Philippines, on January 30, 1972, where her parents were stationed with the U.S. Coast Guard. She passed away on August 17, 2023 at Washington Hospital in Fremont, CA.
Dawn grew up in Union City, CA, attending Little Way Montessori in Fremont and in San Ramon, Fremont Christian School, Moreau High School, and Santa Clara University, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. Following college, she worked for two years with Habitat for Humanity in Georgia. Subsequently, she worked at Hewlett Packard in Mountain View, CA.
Dawn is survived by her mother, Juanita Cisek of Union City, CA, her sister Karen (Van) of Grand Forks, ND and niece, Valerie Doze currently of Germany. She is preceded in death by her father, Leon R.Cisek. Dawn was the granddaughter of George Gaither Metcalf and Pansy Ramsey Metcalf. She was the daughter of Juanita Metcalf Cisek and Leon R. Cisek.
Visitation with family will be Monday, August 28, 12:00-2:00pm at Robinson-Santos Funeral Home, San Leandro. The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, August 29 at Holy Spirit Church in Fremont. Final interment will be at the English-Metcalf Cemetery in Mars Hill, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Compassion International, an organization that was important to Dawn.
