Douglas Lee Hurst “Big Central”, 53, of Weaverville, came face to face with his Creator on February 29, 2020. Doug was born in Buncombe County on February 13, 1967. He was an avid outdoorsman. Doug is loved by “the family that God gave him”: his faithful companion “Caroline” Lewis; “the gang” Jessica and Daniel Harwood, Josie and Robert Bradley, and Joey and Jennifer Lewis; his grandbabies, Phillip, his hero and best buddy, and Lily, Preslea, Lainy, and Lydia, whom he was so proud of. His mother, Joan Raby and her husband Bobby; brother, Kevin Raby; sister, Pam Dailey; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on March 2, 2020 at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverends Kevin Raby and Robert Bradley, Jr. will be officiating.
