Obituary for Emma Lou Freeman (Pauley)

Emma Lou Pauley Freeman, 90, 0f 654 Flynn Branch Road, Marshall, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 25, 2021.

Mrs. Freeman was born on March 6, 1931, in Offutt Kentucky, to Boyd and Lillian Perry Pauley. She moved to Detroit, Michigan, for work at age 17 where she met and married Wade Freeman, September 11, 1949. They worked in Michigan, later relocating to Marshall where they settled and raised their family. Mrs. Freeman retired from Mills Manufacturing after 30 years.

Mrs. Freeman was a faithful, longtime member of Enon Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and cooked many meals for the community.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman is preceded in death by her husband, Wade, grandson, Zachary Freeman, daughter-in-law, Margaret Freeman, sisters, Judy, Vivian, Annie, and Irene, and brother Art.

Mrs. Freeman is survived by her four children, Dennis Freeman, Joan Freeman Flynn (Danny), Michael Freeman (Joann), and Mark Freeman (Kim Dingle) all of Marshall; eight grandchildren, Cristy Freeman, Travis Freeman, Kelly Freeman, Dusty Flynn-Buery, Amanda Freeman Roberts, Alicia Flynn-Henry, Vanessa Freeman, and Rebecca Freeman; 14 great grandchildren, Avery, Andrew, Anthony, Anna, and Alijah Roberts, Brietling and Reece Buery, Annabelle and Damien Henry, Matthew Freeman, Lacey Freeman Patterson, Cassidy Freeman Metcalf, Natasha Carver, and Emma Wilson; 6 great-great grandchildren, Myla Freeman, and baby boy Freeman on the way, McKayley and Abby Mae Patterson, Shailene Carver, and Clay Bradley; sister Phyllis Dockery; brothers Don and Wade Pauley; special companion Brownie; many nieces, nephews, and friends, along with her Flynn Branch and church family.

A private family graveside service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Price Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Enon Baptist Church, 174 Ammons Branch Rd., Marshall, NC 28753.
