Obituary for Grace Robena Flynn (Windsor)

Grace Robena Windsor Flynn, 76, of Marshall, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation. She is the daughter of the late Dan and Ona Burris Windsor and a native of Madison County. In addition to her parents, Grace is preceded in death by her brother, Danny Windsor.

Grace is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John Hiram Flynn; sons, John Michael Flynn (Mona), and Joseph Windsor Flynn (Deanna); sister, Juanita Boone; brother, David Windsor (Wilma); grandchildren, Walker, Halah and Cody Flynn; and several nieces and nephews.

She is remembered by her family as a devoted companion and homemaker for her husband and sons, a fierce advocate and protector for those she loved. She served her community as an elected member of the Lumberton City Board of Education from 1982 to 1987. Grace spent many years as a health advocate for Southeastern General Hospital where she earned a Golden Rule award in 1992 for demonstrating outstanding care to patients.

Her life is a blessing to those who were lucky to know and receive her steadfast love and care.
She is a member of First Baptist Church of Marshall. Blue Ridge Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date and requests no flowers at this time.
