Obituary for James Worley

James Worley gained his angel wings Tuesday February 2nd, 2021 at 3:35am. James spent his final days at Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC following an exceedingly long illness. He recently developed the COVID Virus which turned into pneumonia. James was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. James was described by his family to be a very loving man and that he loved everyone.
Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years: Gertrude Crawford Worley of their home; sister: Mary Worley Coward of Ecrose, Michigan; six sons: James Leonard Worley (Sherry) of Rosman, NC, Bruce Worley (Diane) of Boiling Springs, SC, Dennis Wayne Worley (Kelli) of Fletcher, NC, Kenneth Darrell Worley (Cathy) of Fletcher, NC, and William “Billy” Curtis Worley (Terri) of Fairview, NC and Jeffrey Scott Worley (Kendall) of Mars Hill, NC; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents: Reagan and Emeline Ball Worley formerly of Marshall, NC; brothers: Tyson, Talmadge, Paul, and Elmus Worley; sisters: Blanche Farmer and Naomi Mitchell.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 5th, 2021 at 12:00pm in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with the Reverends Roy McPeters and Robert Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, February 5th, 2021 from 10:45am until 12:00pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Worley’s family kindly encourages the use of face coverings and asks attendees to observe social distancing.
