Janet McKinney Green Maynor, 73 of Mars Hill was graciously promoted into the Lord’s presence on December 21, 2020 at Care Partners Solace Center after a long illness. She had a steadfast faith in God that gave her the desire to share Jesus with others. Janet was the daughter of the late Boyd Calvin McKinney and Ida Lee Briggs McKinney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy M. Bingham. A graduate of Mars Hill College, she also received her master’s degree from Western Carolina and then taught in Buncombe County Schools until retirement.

She is survived by her sister, Joan M. Herron (Larry); nephews, Brent Herron (Wendy) {Charly Herron}, Eddie Bingham (Karen) {Hunter, William, and Katie Bingham} and her special pet, Spotty Boy.
Family, cousins, and special friends (Nancy Ingle, Carol Spence, and Wayne Maynor) enjoyed being together with Janet making memories through the years.

A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Jerry Jamerson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Little Ivy Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Special thanks to the staff and friends at Mars Hill Retirement Center where she lived for being so wonderful and caring for her and Spotty. Special thanks also to the doctors and nurses at Davita Dialysis Center and Solace Center. Our family is very grateful for all of you.
