Obituary for Jerry Joseph Riddle
Jerry Joseph Riddle, age 85, passed away on October 14, 2023. He was born on January 2, 1938, in Pulaski, VA to the late Willie Frederick and Georgia Riddle Hale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy, and Roger Riddle; and a great grandchild, Raegan Emanuel.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Sherry Riddle Ledbetter (Darrin), Lynn Farris, and Marsha Tesner; a brother, Charlie Hale (Gounana); 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren; and close friend and mother of his children, Harriet Riddle.
Jerry retired from Duke Power Company and was always so proud of his service and accomplishments. He attended Oakley Baptist Church for many years and most recently Ivy Hill Baptist Church. For the last several years, every Tuesday and Friday was dedicated to visiting friends and The Depot in Marshall to listen to gospel and bluegrass music.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday October 18, 2023, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Pastor Larry Rogers and Brother Stevie Wallin will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
