Obituary for Josie Irene Bradley (Lewis)

Josie Irene Lewis Bradley’s faith became sight on November 15, 2022. She touched her Savior and was made completely whole. She was a beautiful bright light in this world and lived fully in the “Goodness of God”.
Josie was the definition of a dedicated, Holy Spirit filled Christian. Her focus was stayed on her Jesus, His word, and His work. EVERYTHING was about Him.
First Lady of Big Laurel Baptist Church, Speaker, Teacher, Encourager, Singer, Musician, Inspiration, Hero, Friend, and Prayer Warrior were just a few of the many things she was. Josie considered it her honor to serve and work for her Lord and His church.
Not everyone knew that she was a comedian. She loved to laugh and did so without fear of the future. She had an easy, effortless way of making others laugh too. Her smile was beautiful and infectious, a reflection of her strength and dignity. She loved to have fun no matter where she was and was known to skip into a store or break into a dance just because she could. She was the baby of her family and reminded her siblings of it often. She was a fantastic sister, the most wonderful daughter, and the light of her family’s life. She was petted, spoiled, and loved more than she ever knew.
She was a wonderful wife to her sweet little man, the love of her life, her pastor, Robert. She walked right by his side in marriage, in ministry, and through the mire. She was a mother who fiercely loved her babies. She instructed them in the Word, taught them how they ought to conduct themselves not only as women but as Christians, and was overjoyed to find out they had inherited her love for music and singing.
God opened the door and placed Josie at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville where she worked as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant. She provided administrative support to ensure that Veterans in our community received the care that they needed to age in place in their homes. She worked tirelessly to ensure that administrative functions were accurate and complete to support coordination of much needed care for Veterans. She did this with kindness, compassion, and grace. She was often observed going above and beyond for Veterans and her team members. Josie had a tremendous work ethic, led with integrity, was always attentive to details and a true problem solver. Her mind was another one of her many gifts- she could investigate a problem, connect a series of complex “dots”, and package it all up in a solution where every party knew what their next action was. She was your go to person when you needed a problem solved and she did it intuitively.
Josie valued relationships and connections. She could often be heard providing words of encouragement or a comforting scripture with everyone. She wholeheartedly shared her joy with others. Josie brought such love, compassion and grace to all that she did and all that she was.
Josie will always be cherished by her family. Husband: Robert Bradley, her girls: Lily, Lainy, and Lydia, mother: Carolyn Lewis, sister: Jessica Harwood and brother in love Daniel, brother: Joey Lewis and sister in love Jennifer, two nephews and three nieces that she loved as her own: Phillip and Preslea Harwood, and Alex, Scarlett, and Robin Davis, father and mother in love: Robert and Kim Bradley, sister and brother in love: Kristin and Jason Davis, maternal grandmother: Irene Baker, several uncles, aunts, cousins, and special friends. Her father, Bobby Lewis, preceded her to Heaven when she was just nine months old.
A service honoring Josie will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022, beginning at 11AM at Big Laurel Baptist Church. Reverends Robert Bradley and Nic Coates will be delivering the Word. Planting will take place right after the service in Lewis Cemetery.
