Obituary for Joyce Moss Harwood Baldwin
Joyce “Joy” Moss Harwood Baldwin, 73, of 160 Jackson Mtn. Dr., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 14, 2021.
Mrs. Baldwin was born to the late Robert Clell Moss and Edith Revis on January 22, 1947. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by first husband Stonewall Jackson “Jack” Harwood, second husband Ernest “Clifford” Harwood, and brother Johnny Moss.
Surviving is her husband Danny Joe Baldwin; her children; David Harwood (Sherry), Lora Lunsford (Luther), Angie Garcia (Jose), Felisha Harwood, Daniel Harwood (Jessica), Sherry Lynn Deckrow (Chad), Jimmy Baldwin (Sherry), Travis Baldwin (Angela), Regina Baldwin; her sisters; Frances Hooker, Nola Breedlove, Barbie Parks, and 54 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Most people knew Mrs. Baldwin simply as “Joy” and she lived up to that name in every way. She had a way of making everyone feel important and loved. Her sense of humor and creativity were unsurpassed. Her bright personality served as a light for anyone around her.
Joy was a woman of many talents. She was a regular contributor to the Blue Ridge Christian News which published her poems monthly. Joy used her God given gifts to spread the gospel through music by playing piano at church, singing in the choir, and serving as a vocalist and songwriter for the groups The Spiritual Lights and Jonah’s Voice.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm, Monday, January 25, 2021 at Forks of Ivy Baptist Church. Masks and social distancing will be required.
At all other times the family will be at the home of David and Sherry Harwood 77 Gabriels Creek Church Rd., Mars Hill, NC.
