Obituary for Katherine Elizabeth Hamby (Hancock)
Katherine Elizabeth Hancock Hamby, age 79, of Mars Hill passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center. She is the daughter of the late Fred Hancock and Etta Long. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Ball and sisters, Dottie Price and Mary Church, and brothers, Bobby, and Jimmy Hancock.
She is survived by her sons, Vaughn Hamby (April) and Danny Hamby (Ronda); grandchildren, Jessica, Tabitha, Bryan, and Kyle Hamby, Zeth and Kayla Ball; and great grandchildren, Haley, Maddie, Cameron, Sara, River-Willow.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, February 19, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev Mickey Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the California Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:30 to 2:50 PM prior to the service.
