Sergeant Leonard Curtis Roscoe, 69, husband of Sandra K. Martin Roscoe of 1010 Sugar Loaf Mountain Road passed away peacefully Friday, January 10, 2020 at his home.
Mr. Roscoe was born on March 29, 1950 in Bennettsville, South Carolina, and was the son of the late Earl James Roscoe and Ethel J. Roscoe. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Ann Bundy and brothers, Jimmy and Edward.Leonard was retired from CSX railroad and was the previous owner of Rockingham Plumbing Supply. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp and served in Vietnam where he was the recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star . He was also a 32nd degree Mason with the Hamlet Masonic Lodge #0532 and Scottish Rites.
Mr. Roscoe enjoyed living in the mountains for the past 4 years and felt like this was Heaven on Earth – peaceful and serene.
Leonard is survived by his wife Sandra Martin Roscoe; daughters, Mica Roscoe Romanchock (Kirk), Traci Roscoe (Beverly); sons, Dalton and Dustin Byrne; sisters, Virginia McDuffie and Peggy Howdyshell; grandchildren, Tyler and Nicholas Campbell and his forever fury friend, Diesel Roscoe.
Leonard was a devoted husband, father, papa and loved his family like no other.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
