Mrs. Marie Thomas Martin, 66, of Marshall passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2021 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Arizona Cantrell Thomas and was born in Madison County. Marie was a lifelong resident of Marshall, NC and she was preceded in death by a grandson: Cameron Martin.
Survivors include her loving husband: Grady Martin; three sons: Michael (Carrie), Terry, and Matthew Martin; one sister: Martha T. Hayden; two brothers: Floyd Thomas and Charlie Tweed; 8 grandchildren: Amber, Heather, Michael, Gabriel, Christian (Andy), Taylor, and Natalie Martin, Sarah Heiser and Lena Nevaeh, Avery; and one great granddaughter: Daisy Bodford.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel at Blue Ridge Funeral service in Mars Hill, NC. Rev. Woody Dillingham will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Alexander, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm prior to the service.
