Obituary for Raymond Rudolph Owenby
Raymond Rudolph Owenby, age 79, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023 at CarePartners Hospice Center. Raymond was born on June 27, 1944, in Buncombe County to the late Raymond H. and Viola Tweed Owenby.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel Owenby, Alma Hopson, Maxine Fuller, Rebecca Creasman, Jewell Tester, Corlus Goforth, and Marva Bradley; and a brother, Briscoe Owenby.
Raymond is survived by a sister, Annette Austin (Jason); two brothers, Roland Owenby (Lavetta), and Danny Ray Owenby (Carol); and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 28, 2023, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Mickey Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Steve, Doug, Jeffrey, Ricky, Ransom, and Michael. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am -12:00 noon Friday prior to the service.
