Obituary for Rev. Warren Walter Williams

Rev. Warren Walter Williams, age 78, passed away on December 11, 2023. He was born on November 1, 1945 in Buncombe County, to the late Clyde and Ira Lorena Anders Williams.

Warren was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. His passion was preaching God’s word and singing. Rev. Williams pastored and spread the word to Byrds Chapel Church, Graystone Baptist Church, Windom Missionary Baptist Church, Sand Hill Baptist Church, and Hemphill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Williams, and Shirley Crisp.

Rev. Williams is survived by his wife, Judy Marie Burnette Williams, they would have been married 59 years, Christmas day; daughters, Angela Lambert (Russell), and Kimberly Yeary (Jim); sons, Ted Williams (Kim), and Anthony Williams (Regina); sisters, Betty Roberts, Helen Sawyer (David), Judy Lynn Farina; Gay Nell Rice (Jim); and Susie Murray; Brothers, Paul Williams (Louise), and Gary Williams; brother-in-law, Robert Crisp; grandchildren, Hannah Ransom (Josh), Rachel Lambert, Sarah Spence (Zack), Chris Williams (Melanie), Corey, Adam, Tyler, Walter and Nathan Williams; great grandchildren, Zeke, Iris, Josie, Silas, and Archer Ransom, Asher, and Emery Spence, and Xander Williams.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday December 15, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Reverend Keith Watkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
