Ronnie James King “Taw Taw”, age 75, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday October 3, 2023. He was born November 1, 1947, in Buncombe County. Ronnie was a son of the late James Grady and Ivery Metcalf King.

Ronnie was a truck driver who was always very helpful and willing to lend a hand when needed. He served as a deacon at Pisgah Forest Freewill Baptist Church. Ronnie was a loving, caring, selfless, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois McLean King.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Frances Herrin King; daughter, Lorena Carver; brother, Danny King; grandchildren, Brian Everette King, Alex Wayne Franklin, and Krista King; and special friends, Lloyd Griffin, Mary-Ellen Miller, Lisa Young, Jan Curtis, Noba Kay "Aunt Kate" McLemore, Jason Rice, and Norma Penny.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday October 7, 2023, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Pastors Dean Metcalf, Larry Coates and Coy Wheeler will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tildon Metcalf Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
