Obituary for Shirley Glenda Gayheart (Brown)
Shirley Glenda Brown Gayheart, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Marshall, NC on August 22, 2022. She was a native of Knox County, KY. Mrs. Gayheart was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gayheart; sisters, Chelsea and May; brothers, Ralph and AC Brown. Shirley was a graduate of Knox Central High School and attended Spencerian College, where she met her husband, Harold. She was a very loving and caring, mother, wife and friend and will be missed by many. She enjoyed bowling, as well as working out at the Elizabethtown “E-Town” fitness center.
Shirley is survived by her son, Greg Gayheart and wife Jill, of Marshall, NC as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00am, September 17, 2022, at Elizabethtown Baptist Church, 1525 North Miles St., Elizabethtown, KY, 42701, of which she was a member. Pastor Glen Chasteen will officiate the service. Shirley will be laid to rest at St. James cemetery in Elizabethtown, KY.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Elizabethtown Baptist Church at 1525 North Miles St., Elizabethtown, KY, 42701.
