Alene Silver McDaris, 84, of Kelly Hunter Rd. passed away Friday, January 11, 2019. She was the daughter of the late John B. and Glen Hunter Silver. Mrs. McDaris was a Sunday School teacher and pianist for many years at Bull Creek Missionary Baptist Church of which she was a member. She is survived by her husband, Warren Grant McDaris, Jr.; daughter, Carmen Jones (Billy); sons, Ricky McDaris (Cindy) and Craig McDaris (Karen); sister, Avenell Merrill (Lowell); grandchildren, Heather Crutchfield (Robby), Michael Jones (Jessica), Johnathan Jones, Zachary McDaris (Rachel), Brandon Jones and Maria McDaris; and four great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Monday, January 14, 2019 at Bull Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Reverends Kevin Boone and Stanley Peek will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
