Alma Faye (Smoot) Candler 79, passed away on January 22, 2025. She was born in

New Bern NC to the late Harry Lee Smoot and Alma Jean Burr Smoot.

In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by the love of her life Billy Ray Candler

who passed away in 2019, and her sister Peggy Jean Gaddis.

Faye is survived by her daughter, Selina Candler; son, Billy Candler; sister Ruby Ingram; brother,

Amos Womble; grandchildren, Chanell Wilde (Lee), Jaclyn Hensley (Grayson), Dalton Lunsford

(Taylor); Great Grandchildren, Lillie, Lukas and Lane Wilde; grand dogs, Bailey, Copper and

Faye worked as a Secretary at Health Care Business Consultants for 42 wonderful years. Faye

loved her family more than anything else in the world. She always looked forward to the

Holidays where she went all out with decorations and enough food to feed an Army. She

enjoyed watching Perry Mason and doing word searches. She loved Family beach trips and

time at the lake, where she was at peace on night rides on the boat. Her favorite times were

when her family was all together, and the house was full of laughter. She will always be

remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
