Alvin "Kermit" English, 87, passed away on July 13, 2025. He was a native of Madison County and the son of the late Oscar V. English Sr. and Nell Ball English. In addition to his parents, Kermit is preceded in death by his wife, Alene Shelton English; three sisters, Gertrude and Bertha Chandler, and Gwen Fender, and four brothers, O.V., Val, Bruce, and Jack English.

Kermit was a member of California Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, ginseng hunting with his brother Carroll, and was an avid animal lover. Kermit was a US Marine veteran that served during the Korean and Vietnam War.

He is survived by his son, Greg English, stepdaughter, Rhonda Robinson (Roger), grandson, Jason Brett, and brother, Carroll English.

A funeral service will be held at 12pm Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverends Josh McDevitt and Kermit Ball will officiate. Burial will follow in the English Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
