With a heart overflowing with love and a spirit that brightened every room, Ann Marie Cantrell, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, of Weaverville, North Carolina, passed on to her heavenly home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was 75 years old. Ann was the devoted wife to her lifelong love, Donald Cantrell Sr., and together they built a beautiful life filled with faith, laughter, and unconditional love.

Ann was a proud wife to her loving husband, a devoted mother to her sons, and a cherished grandmother — often lovingly called "Maw" by her grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them, from simple days at home to holidays filled with love, laughter, and togetherness.

Ann never met a stranger. Feisty, fun, and full of life, her warm heart, joyful spirit, and quick wit made her a delight to be around. She had a deep and unwavering faith in God and never missed an opportunity to pray for her family and those she cared about.

She is preceded in death by her parents, the late John Usley Howell and Myrtle Roberts Howell. She is survived by her husband, Donald Cantrell Sr.; their sons, Donald Cantrell Jr. (Donna) and Derrick Cantrell (Sara); her sister, Sarah Sheppard; her grandchildren, Veronica (Keith), Lucas, Owen, and Theo; and many loving in-laws who were dear to her heart, as well as numerous other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A memorial service to celebrate Ann Marie's life will be shared with family and friends at a later time.

Ann will be remembered for her feisty spirit, her kindness, her faith, and her laughter — a combination that brought comfort and joy to everyone around her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing they will see her again one day. For now, she rests peacefully in the arms of the Lord, watching over those she loved so dearly.
