Anne Harrell Lee, 95, of Mars Hill, N.C., passed away peacefully at Mars Hill Manor on August 31, 2024. Anne was born in Greensboro, N.C. on January 6, 1929. She attended public schools in Greensboro and worked as a local model. She was considering nursing school, but at the young age of 19 years old began her lifelong journey with Page Lee, who was 18 years old at the time of their marriage.
Anne supported Page throughout his studies at Guilford College (BA in English), Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. (Bachelor of Divinity and Masters in Theology) and his PhD from Southern Seminary in Louisville, K.Y.
Anne, while supporting Page during his studies and his work as a pastor and then as a college professor, found her fulfillment as a librarian at both Kentucky Southern and Mars Hill College.
As a librarian, she took classes and was able to grow as a professional in Library Science. Over the years she assisted and nurtured numerous students.
Anne is survived by daughters Diane Wells (Dennis), Janet Murray (Bruce) and Laura Scotti (Tony) and son David Lee (Julie); eight grandchildren: Lee (Allison), Jennie, Katie (Jonathan), Emily, Laura Beth, Anderson (Christine), Brooks, and Summer; six great grandchildren: Brady, Lindsey, Miles, Autumn, Jareth, and Oliver.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Mars Hill Baptist Church, Mars Hill, N.C., on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 1pm. A time of visitation will follow the service.
