April Agnes Brooks Mace, 55, a resident of Marshall, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was born on April 18, 1970, and spent most of her life in Madison County.

April was a standout athlete at Madison High School, participating in basketball, softball, volleyball and track; in 1988 she was named Athlete of the year. She earned a bachelor's degree in business and worked at Haywood Regional Medical Center. April cherished her role as a mother to her daughter, Brianna, and will be remembered for commitment to her family and friends, her bright smile and affection for animals.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ferman and Agnes Franklin, and Spurgeon and Rinda Brooks.

April is survived by her parents, Gary and Mary Brooks; daughter, Brianna Allman; brother, Clinton Brooks; sister, Joyce Cheek (David); a special cousin like a brother, Stevie Franklin; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Saturday, June 21, 2025 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Dallas King will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
