Arida Anne Anderson Young, 86, of Candler, NC, passed away October 8, 2024. She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Henry Johnson and Marietta Israel Anderson.

Arida drove a school bus for over 30 years and was cherished by many students from her bus routes. Being a bus driver was only one of many jobs. She had to raise her four girls. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Fred Anderson; sister, Henrietta Bagwell (Marvin); son-in-law, Kim Wiggins; grandchildren, Ken Wiggins and Ashley Taylor.

Mrs. Young is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Wiggins, Patty Reece, Kim Taylor, and Rhonda McElrath (Bob); granddaughters, Whitney Hensley, Stephanie Taylor, Loren Taylor and Brooke McElrath; grandsons, Dusty Hensley, Marshall Wiggins and Matthew Taylor; great granddaughters, Payton Hensley, Willow Taylor, and Lexie Wiggins; great grandsons, Grayson Taylor, Zabian Taylor and Zane Wiggins.

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Friday, October 18, 2024, at Stoney Fork Independent Missionary Baptist Church. Pastors Jeff Massey and Reverend Eric Young will officiate.
