Arnold Rice, 91, of Weaverville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, June 18, 2026. He was born to the late James Hubert Rice and Jimmie Lee Crow Rice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Rice, and brother, Velas Rice.

Arnold proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long and successful career with Square D, where he worked as a supervisor until his retirement. A hardworking and talented man, Arnold found great joy in farming, woodworking, and building. He was known for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and willingness to lend a helping hand to others.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Diane Beck and husband Darren; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his loving chihuahua, Sweet Pea, as well as many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his devoted caregivers, Glenda Lunsford, Anita Rice, and Cindy Fox, as well as the staff of Four Seasons Compassion for Life, for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided during Arnold's illness.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Reverend Ken Parker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery in Marshall.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
