Ava Leona Cole Norton, 84, of Mars Hill, passed away May 22, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Glenn and Donnie Hensley Cole. Ava was a faithful Christian and loved people. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Norton; a daughter, Carolyn Lampley; sons, Donald and Larry Norton; brothers, Melvin, Harlon and Randy Cole, and a grandson, Shane Pennell.

She is survived by daughters, Evonne Thomas (Jim) and Susie Pennell; sister, Edna Messer and several grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. The burial will follow in the Little Ivy Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
