Avery D. Roberts, 71 of S.B. Meadows Dr. died Sunday October 2, 2011. Avery was born October 4, 1939 in Greeneville TN to the late Jay and Della Shelton Roberts. He is also preceded in death by a sister Beatrice Miller and 2 brothers, D. B. and Ben Roberts all of Greeneville, TN. Avery was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and retired truck driver. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Sue Hollifield Roberts; daughter, Paula Roberts; granddaughters, April Roberts and Donna Clark; great grandchildren, Summer Moore, Christian Pillay and Averi Clark; sister, Edith Rigsby of Greenville, TN,; brothers, Joe and Jim Roberts both of Greenville TN. A Funeral Service will be held 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 5, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Freddie Bishop will officiate. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be held 11:00 am Thursday, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Serving as pallbearers are Michael and Ricky Rice, Keith, Kevin and Josh Rigsby, Russell Ooten and Anthony Rigsby.. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Pinnix, Ron Haynes , Don Rhodes, Bobby Rice, Dennis Anderson, Don Ellege and Danny Roberts.
